Enthusiasm

So in the last 48 hours I’ve learned way to much about flash. I’ve gone from being completely lost so being able to get around the entire new PREM Group flash site and make all kinds of crazy changes. I’ve even started making changes to how the objects are named and organized so I personally can maintain the site even easier. Jacob today asked me to come up with something showing the 2 old company logos for Elliot and PREM and them merging or “blowing up” and becoming the new logo. Will be interesting to see if I can pull something off like that in flash or maybe I might do something cool in ImageReady.

I stumbled across this video after a friend request from the band who made the video. http://keithschofield.com/et/. After watching the video I decided to add them to friends and I’ll make a promise to check out more of their music. The video tells the tale of the death of a generation in video gaming history (single handed thanks to one horrifically bad video game) and killed the video game industry for almost a decade until Nintendo resurrected it with Mario.

Rules of friendships/relationships:

1. The friendship/relationship has be fun for me all the time. I’m a good friend if times are tough, but in general it’s gotta be fun for me or it’s not worth it.
2. You have to be honest. Be direct and upfront with me, don’t bullshit me, don’t lie to me, don’t play mind games, and you have to be genuinely who you really are (not just to me, but others).
3. You have to respect my time, my property, my opinions, and my reality. Friends don’t always agree on everything, but at least respect my views and opinions.

Yes, I’m suffering still from my sinuses kicking me in the ass. Thankfully I think I figured out why I’m having all these issues. It’s the stupid fake tree that was in the storage space that I moved into my bedroom mid December. Since then I’ve been off and on having sinus issues. I think it’s coated in dust or some other nasty thing that my body doesn’t like breathing in at night. Last night at 4:00 I couldn’t stop coughing so I removed it from my room and almost immediately upon returning to the room I could breathe better. We’ll see how I do tonight. I’m hoping I feel better because I’ve got a seminar on SQL2005 at 7:30 in the morning.

To sum up the game, the Steelers shouldn’t have won, but did. I wouldn’t have minded a game where the Steelers dominated, but they didn’t. They sucked so bad in that game. They got lucky on 3 plays and barely even made first downs the entire rest of the game. It took them 19 minutes of game clock to score a first down and they didn’t get another till much later in the 2nd quarter. The Seahawks gave their all into the game, dominated, but where screwed over and over by the refs on bullshit calls that even Steelers fans say where bullshit. Sad sad day. I feel sorry most for the Seattle QB who was 100% during that game.

Sitting back today relaxing playing some CS, playing some WoW (battlegrounds), watching some new comedy DVD, and other wise just chilling around the house. Tonight Mom made the Laurence famous HPnC (Hotdogs Potatoes and Cheese). It’s an acquired taste, believe me! After dinner Ray and I chilled for a while and played some XBox360 and now that he’s hit the sack I think I’m going to do some more battlegrounds before I get to bed. Interesting side thought: I’m enjoying the game more now that it’s just entertainment rather than an escape.

Tonight Alex has invited me out to Pambiche with some of his friends… or at least that was the initial plan. Last minute plans changed it to Sweet Basil Thai. Personally I don’t like Thai food, in fact I’ve only ever had 1 good Thai experience. We’ll see how it goes, apparently he invited something like 12 people out to dinner. It’s going to be fun to meet new people.

EDIT: Lots of cool people. The food was gross, I went and ordered a fish but didn’t think that “crispy trout” was deep-fried with skin on a stake. Blarg. Oh well still had a good time, met new people, have 3 new friends on MySpace, and we got several cool pictures that I’m looking forward to throwing on my Gallery once they are sent to me.

I need to force myself to always take my Claratin every single day. I don’t like taking medicine so once I’m feeling good and I think “it’s not allergy season anymore”, I stop taking it. Then when I start hacking, coughing, and hurting from sinus pressure in my face, it takes me a week of suffering to realize “Oh I need to take my Claratin”. So I broke down and payed a whopping 10.99 at Costco for 300 days of it. So now I have no excuse not to take my sinus medication every single day so I don’t suffer anymore.

Someone told me about this little blog “game” and I thought I’d oblige. If you read this, do it yourself because it really makes you think. This was a great exercise for myself and I’d recommend it to anyone. Now the only rule to this that once you post it, disable comments and NEVER EVER talk about it again.
