Enter Powerleveling

So for the next 2 days (though Saturday afternoon) we are going to be power-leveling Mairn to at least 46. This is going to be quite a feat but I think we can do it. Who knows maybe along the way I might get a level or 2. We’ve been grinding quests in Tanaras and I hope to finish all these tonight and possibly even finish all the quests in Felaras tomorrow. That alone should be enough XP to get him his levels. I’m hoping to also get my Infernal sometime this weekend.

PREMv4

So today I just got the green flag to do what it takes to move toward PREMv4 as quickly as possible. People are sold on it’s portal capabilities as well as the “content management” being pushed out to the property managers. This makes the whole concept and site scalable and us able to release portal sites with unique content for each and every property. Now I just need to learn how to make custom modules which honestly is quite a feat, but it’s going to be a fun roller-coaster.

When I thought things were mellowing down

As it turns out it seems like things are picking up fast again. At least this time it’s a programming crunch. I’ve got a lot of coding to do in a very short period of time. We just had another meeting today about the launch of the Meriwether and because the meeting as usual ran late I missed my free lunch at Stanfords. Annoying to say the least. I’m kinda bitchy and going out with Derek (who feels my pain) to vent about people’s crazy expectations about getting 10 projects done at once. *sigh*

Keith

Keith Childs, Property Manager and down right tootin cool brother, is leaving the company this Thursday. Tonight we’re going to party like we’ve never partied before in memory of his time and service to the company. He will be missed on so many levels. Now that he’s leaving there’s less than a handful of in office people left in the company from when I started.

We ended up going to uptown billiards where I took an Irish car bomb right at the start. Then bet Rasuli a game of pool on 2 shots of Tequila. I won that game but then bet double or nothing and lost. This means I took 4 shots of Tequila. After several hours we went to the Boiler Room where I ended up having 2 1/2 more Irish Car bombs. I’m gonna miss the guy, I’ve always liked him and never had a bad experience working with him. Good luck Keith in your future work/life adventures.

For the Horde

Took Ray for the first time to the Alterec Valley. He completed not as many quests as I did on my first run, but completed at least 5 I think. He’s pretty close to 52 and I recommended he respec to Fury/Prot/Arms hybrid. It’s going to help out his AC a lot more and he’s going to notice that I think a lot more than the small amounts of bleed damage he’s getting from crits. We got him a new axe, neck, and rings last night which will help boost hist stamina because that is honestly lacking. Those items need enchanting and I think he’ll start looking pretty buff. Without a shield he’s at 4K AC and with one I think he’s close to 6K. The guild is doing well, forums are starting to be used regularly, and members pouring in now. It’s just a matter of time before I get all my website issues resolved. My damn hosting provider keeps blowing me off.

Chilled out with Sean today at his place. We did a little bit of WoW’ing, Burnout Revenge 360, Oblivion, then more WoW for the rest of the evening. We didn’t get quite enough done that we wanted to get done, but whatever it was fun none the less. It was great being able to sit back and chill with Sean gaming, hanging out, drinking way too much soda, and well being real. I’m looking forward to hanging out with him on Thursday Night / Friday since I have the day off and so does he.

Balliwood!!!

So tonight I met the infamous Kalani and her husband. They are such different people but somehow they work. Kalani is just like Kerrie except quit a bit more of a spaz. Apparently she just seriously chopped off a lot of hair. Anyhow after having dinner at their place, chilling drinking beer, watching Firefly, and joking about Chuck Norris, we make our leave for Balliwood night.

All I have to say is “OUCH”. I haven’t gone out dancing in over 2 months and my legs are out of shape again. One good night of dancing though and I think they should be fine by next week. I need to do more walking and use the stairs in the morning coming up from the garage and in the evening. I think that will help keep my legs in shape even when I don’t go out dancing every week though I know I’ll get back into the swing of things now that work is back to somewhat normalcy.

Does this game ever get old?

Well not yet anyhow. I am now a vampire and learning the joys of not only my dark gifts but how to deal with the issues of feeding or having to deal with the issues of daylight. A lot of dungeon raids at night followed by hiding in 24/7 inns at dusk, running to the blacksmith when the shop opens, and then waiting around in the smithy shop till nightfall. The game is seriously starting to get hard because I’m already a journeyman in all of my key skills though Alchemy is my highest skill at 75 (expert level).

Dark Brotherhood, Gray Fox, Mythic Dawn, Oh My!!!

Yes I’m thoroughly lost in Oblivion and probably will be for quite some time. I’ve now joined the warrior guild, thieves guild, mage’s guild, and of course the assassin guild also known as the Dark Brotherhood. The way the game scales quests so that they are perfect difficulty based on your level is amazing. Tomorrow I’m hoping to do enough quest for the Dark Brotherhood that I will be offered the dark gift of Vamparism.

Better than expected

I will preface this by stating that I’m an old school Elder Scrolls fan boy. I played TES I and II before people even knew who Bethesda Software was and long before Marrowind was even conceived or the original Xbox. I am also an old school Final Fantasy, Dungeons and Dragons, and Ultima fan boy playing such games as Eye of the Beholder I-3, all the old 2D games, most of the Ultimas especially loving Ultima 8: Pagan, and every single Final Fantasy game in existence. This game by far is the most exciting, most immersive, best game I’ve ever played. The storyline is rich, the graphics amazing, and the game play fun when you want it to be fun and heart pounding when in a quest that leads you into a sewer, dark cave, or worse the Planes of Oblivion themselves. I can’t wait to get more game time in.

Thank you Bethesda for making my year.
