My whole body hurts from moving. Things have gone well though. Servers are up, email is up, vpn is up, document management system is up, website is up, domain is up, phones are up, and everything is working. There are little things we are smoothing out. I just wish I wasn’t so damn sore and tired. I’m going to head home at 4:00 and take a nap before the concert tonight so I’m well rested for tomorrow.

Servers are shutting down and I know I’m all excited. I got all my web stuff done and now comes the joy of moving and setting up the network. Moving the servers is going to be serious hard labor and I hope I don’t hurt myself though I know it will probably happen. My fingers are already hurting from helping people unplug network cables and other cables that hurt your fingertips.

So even though there is only 1 day left before the move, I’m feeling pretty relaxed. The IT office is packed, www.premgrp.com is ready to go, the HR database is operational, PTO system is converted, and many other things that we thought we’d have to do this weekend we got done during the week. On top of it all, it seems like the Pine Street people will not be moving over to the new office quite yet, which means that’s 30+ computers we don’t have to setup and configure to live on our network this weekend. That means we have another long weekend some other time when they do move but it means less work now and we get to work out all the kinks of the new office with just Couch Street people.

So from 6:00 to 9:30 Brian, Jaz (as of 7:00), and I spent a total of 9 1/2 man hours deploying, opening, and setting up all the new phones in the new office. Right now I’m feeling pretty accomplished, but I’m thirsty, tired, and my feet hurt like hell. Thankfully hungry isn’t in that list because when Jaz arrived at 7:00 she brought P.F. Changs. I can’t wait till this move is done and I can relax a bit.

So in preparation for me and Kerrie to swap music and me to work on my music collection, tonight I sent a while transferring all of Dad’s data off my new laptop and moving my entire music collection onto it. This will be really nice because now I’ll have all my music with me where ever I go on my laptop. Ate way too much chinese food, very full. Must sleep now…

So Ray and I decided that we’d get back into leveling again since he got at least back up to Sergeant and I got to First Sergeant (I hope that’s where I am after this week’s changes). We have so many quests right in the late 40′s and early 50′s range that are scattered all over. It’s frustrating deciding “ok now where do we go” and then when we get there figuring out the layout of new places, particularly tonight the Hinterlands. We got to ALMOST own a 51 hunter who ran away on us. I think she got to 20 health before all my dots wore off. The night was frustrating but Ray got 49 and I’m almost 50. Maybe I’ll spend tonight grinding out some more honor before hitting 50.

Dad got a new Sony Viao today so I inherited his “old” Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz Hyperthreaded, 1gig of DDR, “hand-me-down” Toshiba laptop. Suffice to say after hours of uninstalling tons of crap he had on there, it’s now running smoother probably than the day he bought the thing and running to my specs. Tomorrow I get to install my dev tools and office applications on it and NO MORE crappy Averatec POS. Plus it’s a 17″ widescreen machine so just plug in a mouse and it’ll do me fine for in or out of the office as my mobile workstation. Nice bonus it even plays WoW better that Ray’s guest box.

Picked up Kerrie after work today and met up with my folks for dinner at Outback. It of course took us an hour to get a table but it was nice being able to stand around and for Kerrie to get to know my Dad and visa versa. Of course my mom dove right in knowing all about her already from previous meeting. Dad was of course very nervous and didn’t know what to expect, but warmed up really fast. Fun was had by all and we went back to the house after dinner and everyone hung out for a while, had muffins, etc. I put some laundry in for the coming week of hanging out at Kerrie’s and when done headed to her place. This is gonna be a fun week seeing if we can successfully see too much of each other.

I can’t believe I actually have time to sit back and relax a bit. Here I was thinking that right now I’d be moving an office, running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but no I’m so relaxed. I’m going to enjoy relaxing a bit today.

So Jacob, Derek, Jeff, even Brian are all impressed with what I pumped out so quickly. Yes I did fix the site this morning and then proceeded to pump out a completely kick ass web portal for the Meriwether including NT authentication for windows users. I even figured out how to setup the shopping cart which will be useful information for later when I setup Kerrie’s site I agreed to do for her. Jacob was so impressed he said we need to roll this out for all of our properties and will increase communication with ALL tenants. Now if we can get Jacob/Rhonda to agree on the idea of dropping the flash and going with ASP.NET/DNN on the front end of our site again. *sigh*
