Enthusiasm

You know my brother is the WORST vacation souvenir gift giver. For example one time he went to Vegas and came back with a bottle of “Romulan Ale”… ummm wtfbbq? I mean come on at least he could have gotten me Klingon Blood Wine, but Romulan Ale? That stuff tastes like Farangi piss. Anyhow getting back to the real topic of this blog post, Ray today completely made up for all the horrible kitchy stuff he’s bought in the past and brought back a one of a kind, hand carved, 2 foot tall, wooden King Cobra. This thing is amazing. I’m going to tell the Iron Serpents about it and maybe get a pick of it up on the website.

Oh yeah and my parents are back from the islands and my mom has some new rocks on her wrists and fingers. I missed em and they’re happy to be back home.

Today’s adventure in hiking was Mary S. Young park. We pushed ourselves to an hour and 15 minutes today of really hardcore, fast paced hiking. There were a lot of hills and a lot of back trail even on the border of scary areas that we hiked. Really steep stuff we had to take slowly. We ended up only doing what we think is half of the trails in that park which means we have more to look forward to if we come back some time soon. Next week our goal is going to be an hour and a half and eventually 2 hours after that.

Tonight is Brian’s wife Jazmyne’s birthday. We met up with them at 7:00 at New York New York in Tigard. The food as usual was fantastic and it was great finally meeting the owner Pat. I had previously only been to their other location closer to downtown. Pat made Jaz a really great cake which was a ton of food. We ended up going to the Voodoo Lounge where we had the Red Room reserved for our private party. I can’t remember his name but one of Brian’s friends was really cool to meet, the guy with the Nintendo belt. We talked about old school gaming and he said he’d keep in touch and liked us (me and Kerrie). Anyhow fun was had by all and even ran into Rasuli while we were there.

I’ve finished the “New Portal User” form, PTO, referral page, holidays, and even incorporated the handheld tools I made for Ed into PREMV4/DNN. That day on Wednesday really payed off. Jacob even asked me to push out a portal for the Louisa and I got it pumped out in about an hour. I think he’s going in the direction of wanting a property portal for every single property we manage.

Today is the first “First Thursday” for PREM Group’s new space. We threw open the loading bay door, blasted the music, brought out the keg, and even went down to Hot Lips and picked up 3 pizzas. Fun was had by all and I think we will definitely be partying every First Thursday. A lot of random people walked by and said hi and got tours of our space.

Today’s been really great for learning how to do custom modules. Being able to get away and not have a single distraction and focus on learning this stuff has been amazing. I truly get it now. Hopefully with the things I’ve learned today I should be able to completely finish re-coding the rest of the modules I need to code to get us moving toward PREMv4.

Yes sir I’m stressed out. I’m so overworked right now. There is a hard deadline of the 11th that we “need to have our shit together” for the launch of the Meriwether. I have some pretty overwhelming programming goals to achieve for that deadline, all new technology stuff, and I have no idea how I’m going to get it done. I asked Brian for tomorrow off so I can get away from user support to learn how to custom code in DNN. At first he resisted but then he realized how stressed I was and said I should take the day. Hopefully that will help.

THANKS LIVE JOURNAL!!! For those loyal paying members apprently you are given more user picks based on your tenure with live journal. I think they base the amount of bonus user picks based on a combination of time with Live Journal and how many posts you have made during that time. I know that I have 34 and I think Kerrie has 56 or something like that. She has been on LJ for YEARS, so logic tells me it’s a combination of time and posts since I’m a post maniac and she’s just been around a long time. I think I might spend part of this evening uploading more userpics so I can start taking advantage of this new bonus LiveJournal has given me.

EDIT: Apparently they changed the base user pics of a paid account from 15 to 30. Then I have 4 loyalty pics. So Kerrie on the other hand has 16 loyalty pics. So I was way off base but still pretty cool.

Kerrie and I went down to the Trillium festival to enjoy a day of walking, fresh air, rain, and mud. I think we walked a couple of miles and when we were done both of us were quite tired (me probably more so than her). It was nice being able to see the Trilliums bloom and we arrived at the “festival”, if you’d call it that, late so we actually avoided most of the crowd and were able to enjoy nature. Kerrie suggested going down to REI and getting some nice hiking boots and maybe she and I might go hiking more. Sounds like fun and the exercise is great.

So the web is filled with April Fools jokes. Not sure what content on various sites is actually real and what’s complete bullshit. Especially the news on www.worldofwarcraft.com about the new Alliance race in the expansion. I mean come on WISPS? WTF? They have got to be kidding me! Noone would play a wisp because who wants to be a Kamakazee ball of energy who can’t visibly wear equipment? The think that’s kind of upsetting is Blizzard has enough free time to do April Fools bullshit but their servers are falling apart. *sigh*
