Spore Creature: Lord of Change

Published by Cybervic under Reading, Spore, Warhammer

The anticipation is agonizing!

June 14th was the deadline to enter the BOOM Studios Promo Code for entry into the closed Warhammer Beta. Being a loyal fan of Warhammer and Dan Abnett, I ordered the comic and had the code entered some time last month. It’s bad enough they delayed the deadline for the entries to June 14th from May 31st, but now all of us are sitting back waiting in anxious anticipation to see if we are one of the lucky 20% who are getting admitted into the beta. Thankfully, I’ve been entertaining myself with Spore, but I still can’t wait to hear news of whether I even got in or NOT.

To make productive use of my time in Spore while waiting on Warhammer, I present to you: The Lord of Change. Yes the Greater Deamon of Tzeentch himself made by yours truly.

Picnic

Published by Cybervic under Kerrie, Nature, Reading

Got a haircut and decided to have a picnic with Kerrie today. We got some ribs, strawberries, pineapple, cornbread, and Newman’s Own Pink Lemonade and headed to a random new park on the GPS. The weather was nice and we sat under two very large trees over a park bench. The food was great and the company even greater. We weren’t at the park for long, but it was nice to completely get away from technology and life for a while. We need to do that more often. I doubt Kerrie would complain.

After the Picnic we headed to Ikeawhere we dreamed a bit more about out future house together. It was nice being able to completely skip over the couch section at Ikea since we now have that awesome leather couch we got a little while back. Kerrie got some storage cubes for her yarn shelf / bookcase thingie. Of course meatballs were had and we grabbed coffee on the way home. The rest of the day was spent reading my book and relaxing with Kerrie.

Harry Potter Goodness!

Published by Cybervic under Kerrie, Reading

Last night saw the 5th installment of the Harry Potter series. It was a great film. Keep in mind that I didn’t get to read the book, it was a fantastic film. The whole film kept up the pace and a ton of things were happening. There was very little time at all for the usual Harry Potter junking around and they did a great job right at the beginning with showing the fear and reality of Lord V upon the wizarding world. The ending was kinda shocking and I’m glad noone ruined it. Although the feeling of sadness was replaced somehow by the feeling of a cheap StarWars scene remake by Luke, Darth Vader, Emporer, but rather Harry, the bitch, and Lord V. Fight scenes were great, action was great, and of course as always the frackin’ book surrounds the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. All around, great movie especially Harry’s last words to Lord V. at the end, good closing words from Harry too.

After we got out of the theatre we were greated with a massive thunderstorm outside. It was great to hit Starbucks and enjoy the lightning.

Lincoln City

Published by Cybervic under Family, Nature, Reading

For Mom’s birthday, the whole family (Mom, Dad, Ray, Carrie, and myself), all headed down to the coast in my brother’s new van. It was kinda nice because I had time to read up a bit on my palmistry, practice a bit on Mom and Carrie, and we had a lot of interesting conversation. We went by an old bookstore where I picked up a book on Shamanism and Druidism. After books, we headed to the outlet mall where I ended up getting 2 new pairs of Bass shoes. Finally we finished our run at the coast with a visit to Moe’s where after a great warm meal I had quite an awesome moment in nature.

The best way for me to explain this moment is by describing a picture someone took of me maybe 5 or 6 years ago. We were on the beach and I was walking along the shoreline by myself, staring off into the blue abyss that is the ocean off to the horizon. It was one of those moments that I felt completely alone, but I was ok with that because I was completely in touch with nature and everything going on around me. Another example of this is when it is fall and the wind is blowing and the trees are swaying just the right way. You can feel the tree’s energy and almost hear them whisper to you. Anyhow back to my moment today, I walked outside Moe’s and walked out to the little peer/dock outside and the closer I walked the more the wind, rain, and forces of nature roared up at me. At the height of it all I opened my trench coat to get a gigantic blast of wind, rain, and sea hit me, whipping my trench back and embracing me with the raw force of nature.

Good times.
